Tire Tips

When inspecting tires you should look for signs of uneven or excessive wear, both on the tread and the sidewall. Visual inspections should be performed at least once a month. Tires will likely need to be replaced if they are damaged (e.g. punctured) or worn (e.g. wear bars are even with tread depth). All tires wear out eventually, and it is important to properly assess whether your tires require replacement, service/repair or are still safe to drive on. You may also wish to replace tires for seasonal or performance-driven reasons.

Tire Maintenance

Proper maintenance, inflation and even proper driving habits can actually extend the life of your tires.

Proper Inflation – Keeping tire pressure at the recommended levels for your vehicle ensures maximum comfort, safety, handling and braking efficiency. Properly inflated tires last longer and help you get better mileage.

Maintenance – Regular tire rotation helps tires wear evenly and wheel alignment optimizes suspension performance and steering efficiency while contributing to longer tire life.

Driving- Smooth acceleration, braking and stopping, as well as avoidance of potholes, debris, curbs and other obstacles can help protect your tires.
